Real Futures Vocational Training and Employment Centre
Real Futures has been contracted to train 230 Indigenous Australians for a guaranteed job before December 2015. The VTEC model has a strong focus on retention rates and trains job seekers for long term employment opportunities.
We are honoured to have the opportunity to establish and deliver the Hunter North Coast Vocational Training and Employment Centre for Aboriginal people in our regions with our head office based in Kempsey.
We have a deep passion for real change creating real futures and empowerment for Aboriginal people through employment whilst preserving the importance and integrity of Culture.
Real Futures have developed a five stage phase process to identify the progress of our VTEC aspirants
Phase 1: Aspirant - preparation (preference, suitability, stream)
Phase 2: Applicant - training for guaranteed job
Phase 3: Active - congrats pack - working (intensive support first 4 weeks then ongoing comms)
Phase 4: Achiever - 6 month VTEC reward incentive for worker
Phase 5: Advance - career plan, life plan realization
Our mentors are called Reach Out Officers (ROOs) and work with families and communities as well as our applicants.
Real Futures VTEC Job Readiness training delivers foundation skills ( communications, basic workplace literacy and numeracy etc ) and Core Employability Skills (communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, self-management, independence, basic technology, organisational skills, etc)
Nationally accredited vocation training that is job specific to the guaranteed role is sourced from culturally competent RTOs or RTOs who have a partnership with our employers.

- Job Readiness training (foundation and core skills)
- Cert III Administration (Medical)
- HR MC HC Licence training
- Cert III Aged Care and HACC
- Cert II Basic Construction
