MPREC Vocational Training and Employment Centre
MPREC and APM have has been contracted to train 230 Indigenous Australians for a guaranteed job before December 2015. The VTEC model has a strong focus on retention rates and trains job seekers for long term employment opportunities.
Murdi Paaki Regional Enterprise Corporation (MPREC) will lead a 50:50 partnership with Advanced Personnel Management (APM) to deliver VTEC services.
MPREC is the primary provider of services to Indigenous communities in Western NSW and has close ties to the Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly, the peak representative structure for Aboriginal people across the Region. MPREC has been successfully delivering employment service to Aboriginal people since 2003. It is a current specialist Indigenous JSA provider in five locations in Western NSW and the RJCP provider in the Far West and Upper Darling regions. It also delivers CDEP in 8 remote localities in Western NSW.
APM acquired the OEC Employment JSA contracts for central west NSW in Sept 2013. APM has over 600 employees, operates in 297 locations Australia-wide, with staff trained to work collaboratively with clients to address a broad spectrum of social, physical, psychological, cultural and personal barriers.
Both MPREC & APM and their staff have considerable experience in working with employers and Aboriginal job seekers to achieve sustainable job outcomes. MPREC is a specialist Indigenous JSA provider and its staff (who in most cases are Aboriginal) know how to prepare their job seekers for work, can help them overcome their vocational and non-vocational barriers, are culturally competent and understand the importance of meeting employer needs.
