The discussion paper was great reading,It has highlighted the need to support from first contact to final placement in the work environment and the need for on going and continued support.
The work buddy system offers people the support of someone to connect to in regards to the whole concept of work and the workplace. As well as support in regarsds to personal issues that are present within family and trying to work in the surroundings of a dysfunctional community environment.
As i work with several aboriginal workers and have discussed this with them we would like to see some support for those who are in the work force so they can support others tying to enter the workforce.
As these young men are looked at as role models, they will be an asset to promote and encourage others to work.
It is disappointing to see over a 12 month period how none of these workers have been approached to see if they need any help so the concept of the buddy system would have a positive outcome in regards to filling a void that is already out in the work place.
It is better to do something small than nothing at all.
Many thanks keep up the great wok
