living in a rural area of australia myself i realise that opportunities for much of the youth are scarce,i have also witnessed the lack of stability in the family environments, often the most stable and structured environment for youth in not just rural areas but in any troubled household is on the footy field or out on the cricket pitch. its important to give this particular group in our generation an opportunity to gain structure in there lives and the ability to live independently, but to keep them involved in support groups, make it a social experience like sport. where there can be other people close by in the same situation, who can understand. its a vital step to create actively contributing members of scociety, but also giving them a sense of community.
