For those who are committed, you can search for any training packages or training organisations here: www.ntis.gov.au or go to the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre here: www.indigenousleadership.org.au
Employees should also check to see if their workplace offers Indigenous mentoring training. For example, the Indigenous Mentoring Program (IMP) is one initiative of the Community Services Skilling Plan which focuses on the development and implementation of regional mentoring programs customised for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers, volunteers and careers in the community services sector.
Similarly, the Department of Education of Western Australia offers an Aboriginal Mentoring Program for all teaching and non-teaching Indigenous staff. The Traditional Credit Union offers mentoring to their staff, as do Government organisations like Centrelink through their Recognising Indigenous Voices and Endorsing Reconciliation Strategies network.
Get in touch with the organisations registered on the GenerationOne website and see if there are any opportunities for you to get involved.
Your support so far has been incredible. We are so excited to have almost 50,000 dedicated supporters on board. However, if we want to end the disparity in this generation, we need you to share your support and the GenerationOne movement with your friends.
