INDIGENOUS JOB SEEKERS
Sustainable employment is critical to personal wellbeing, self esteem and confidence- and it's good for our economy. The Indigenous unemployment rate is around three times higher than that of non-Indigenous people.
How You Can Take Action
Whether you are registered with a Job Services Australia provider or not, you can look for employment vacancies through the AEC. If you are registered with a Job Services Australia provider, ask your case manager to help you find an AEC job and undertake the required pre-employment training. If you are unemployed but don't yet have a job seeker identification number, you will need to contact Centrelink to be interviewed, assessed and be allocated a job seeker identification number. Jobseekers without a job seeker identification number can also find AEC vacancies directly their website.
