Hi I am Kane Stocker, I grew up as a usual indigenous person within Aus. I was born in Port Hedland WA in 1985 then I moved to perth in 1989 in which I did most of my schooling. It was a hard time from primary and through high school, dealing with racial issues and also trying to graduate. But in 2002 I finally graduated school and really didnt know what I wanted to do.

I finally got the oppportuninty to do something with my life through BHP billiton where I got a Electrcial techinician apprenticeship in 2003. It was a hard 4 years but I hung in there and finished my trade. After finishing my trade I started working within the oil and gas industry and still work in to this day.

I am proud to be a indigenous Australian and I feel I have done well for myself over the past years even with all the issues wiht modern australian society. I keep close to my family and the Nyamal roots that I come from. I also have 2 other brothers that have done well for themselves.

One in 37 yr old that is a Lead drilling engineer for woodside Petroleum and another who is a Process/ Instrumentaion techician for Apache energy. My father Geoffery Stocker is a Nyoongar business man that has also done very well over the years, he started off as a operator and over the years eventually started his own mine mantainance company that has approx 60-70 % indigenous employment
