Centre for Policy Development: is anyone talking about Indigenous Affairs?

The Centre for Policy Development had a great opinion piece about the need for a better dialogue about Indigenous Affairs in the 2010 election.  The questions the piece raises are central to GenerationOne's goals, and need to be answered as the campaign continues. The low priority of Indigenous issues this campaign was further emphasised by a comment from Tony Abbott at a Redfern meeting yesterday – he stated there had been political agreement on the issue for years! The Australian: Hope the Main Course at Training Centre

The Australian had a nice story about GenerationOne's progress.  It also included the success story of Coellie Coliacovo who is training in Redfern to become a caterer.  The article discusses how GenOne will influence the election campaign this year. Generation One was founded in March this year and is the brainchild of Andrew Forrest, the chief executive of Fortescue Metals Group. Mr Forrest asked for more action from the government yesterday in an open letter to politicians. calling for an end to "indigenous disparity in our generation". ... More...
