Father of three determined to be a role model for his kids and community
Warren Gaykamangu hails from the island of Milingimbi in northern Arnhem Land. The proud and determined father of three worked for several years at the local general store, but when he heard about the Defence Indigenous Development Program he became excited at the prospect of making something more of his life and role modelling for his children and other youngsters back home what is possible with effort and the will to succeed.
Warren commenced the course in early 2010 and will graduate in November.
There have been many challenges along the way but Warren has always reminded himself why he is here and the importance of what he is doing for himself and his family. Following this course he looks forward to continuing his education and developing himself further as a leader in the community.
