Loretta Cooper - Confidence through floristry and Natasha Drew - New Career in Floristry

Loretta Cooper - Confidence through floristry

Loretta is a 35 year old woman originally from Gilgandra N.S.W and now resides in Sydney.

She is currently studying a course in floristry at FLOWERS BY MERCEDES. The course runs for 12 weeks at the shop in Redfern. When Loretta began the course she had little knowledge about flowers, arrangements or floristry.

Now, she is confident in a number of different types of flower arrangements such as mini boxes, bouquets, corsages and button holes. She has gained knowledge about plants and flowers native to Australia. Loretta has thoroughly enjoyed the course and has no hesitation in encouraging anyone who is interested in this field to pursue their dreams.

She will complete her current studies and intends to further her studies in floristry. In the forseeable future, she would like to own and open a florist. Loretta plans to complete a course in small business as she believes this will help her in reaching her goal. Determination and goal setting will help Loretta Cooper realise her dreams.

Natasha Drew - New career in floristry

Natasha is originally from Western Australia. She has been living in New South Wales for 25 years.

Natasha has been a cook for many years and has recently completed a 12-week Aboriginal training program in floristry at Flowers by Mercedes, Waterloo Sydney. She specialises in flower arrangements using flowers native to Australia and enjoys making boxes, large displays and baskets for weddings.

Natasha likes being creative and finds working with plants and flowers to be peaceful and therapeutic. She has a passion to learn about the different flowers, their names and how to care for them. One day soon, Natasha hopes to work on corporate displays and would like her arrangements to be shared with a wide range of people who can enjoy them. Natasha hopes to have a stall at Carriage Works markets, selling flowers and plants native to Australia an Aboriginal woman.
